Winners of the 24th Annual Communicator Awards have officially been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. With entries received from across the US and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.

Spire Digital’s work with Cochlear and the Augustine Institute have been honored in the website and mobile app categories respectively.

Cochlear Clinic Finder Web-App

Through our work, Clinic Finder has grown into a strategic tool for building the brand, generating and nurturing leads, driving conversion, and ultimately helping people hear. What’s more, this modern, single-page web application can be seamlessly dropped into any Cochlear website page or microsite.

FORMED Streaming App

Spire’s product team built an insight-driven user story catalog to guide our weekly sprints. Our design and development teams worked in tandem to deliver the native iOS app in a mere 120 days. Along the way, the team built web services, API and third-party integrations with providers such as Gigya. Understanding that parishioners from all walks of life and parts of the country would be using the app, we engineered it to stream content in areas with poor data and wifi coverage.

Within the first few months, FORMED grew quickly to a half-million users. The platform is fast becoming a vital educational and inspirational resource for hundreds of parishes, and millions of people around the country. What’s more, independent testing confirmed that the app often referred to as Netflix for Catholics, does indeed outperform the actual Netflix in terms of load times and stability.

The Communicator Awards

The Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including: PureMatter, Condè Nast, Disney, Republica, Sesame Workshop, MTV, Starbucks, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Yahoo!, and many others.
